Service deep dive
Marketing an audiobook you already have, whoever made it
A discovery campaign for an existing audiobook — narrative-led short-form content, promotion built around narration and character, reader communities, and cross-promotion between editions.
Audiobook marketing builds discovery and demand for an audiobook that already exists. That is the whole scope and the whole limit of it: we market an audiobook, we do not produce one. An author can bring an audiobook made by another studio, one they recorded themselves, or one they paid a narrator for, and the work is identical. Available independently of audiobook creation at any point, this is a genuine service — not a promise that a production pipeline exists when it does not.
Content built from the narration itself
- Narrative-led short-form content built around the audiobook rather than adapted from the print text — what the narration sounds like, how a character is voiced, what a scene does out loud.
- Promotional concepts built around narration, character and scene, because an audiobook has material the print book does not and content that ignores it wastes the format.
- Reader-community promotion across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and in the communities where listeners of your genre actually gather.
- Cross-promotion between the print, ebook and audiobook editions, so the editions support each other instead of competing for the same reader.
- Content volume inside the same defined production model as every other plan — no unlimited production is offered at any tier, here or anywhere.
Starting from how the book sounds out loud
- Listening to what is actually there. Audiobook content starts from the narration — a narrator's reading of a line, a chapter opening, the texture of a voice — rather than from the book jacket.
- Building concepts around scenes that land differently when heard, then cutting them to the format each platform rewards.
- Posting into the communities that listen, in the places where audiobook readers and audiobook-lovers already gather rather than only into a general book audience.
- Pointing listeners at the right edition, including where an audiobook is included in a subscription service, because that changes what the reader should do next.
The audio, link and rights we need
The finished audiobook, its retail link, and the edition details — narrator, length, unabridged or not, and whether it is in Kindle Unlimited or another subscription. Also any rights constraints: if a passage cannot be used publicly, we need to know before a concept is built on it. If the audiobook is not yet live anywhere, this service cannot help yet, and it is better to publish it first.
Why audiobook marketing is not print marketing
The dominant failure is marketing the print book with an audiobook link attached, which is not audiobook marketing and does not perform like it. The second is posting audio straight through — a clip of narration with no visual or structural reason to stop watching is the audiobook equivalent of a static image. The third is under-claiming the format: audiobooks sell well to readers who have not finished the print book, and a campaign that assumes the print edition comes first leaves that reader unused.
Who this service is not for yet
Not for an author without a finished audiobook — this markets an existing edition, it does not create one. Not for anyone hoping for a produced audiobook as part of this; audiobook creation is not currently offered, and we would rather say so plainly than sell them a marketing service and let them assume a production exists. And not for authors treating it as an add-on to a print campaign that is already saturated.
Supplying audio before concepts are built
Supplying the audio, the metadata and any rights restrictions before concepts are built. If you are recording this yourself, there is more: a clean, final master rather than a working file. Everything after that runs like the rest of the content work.
What audiobook-specific results look like
Content that sounds like an audiobook campaign rather than a book campaign, in front of listeners who came for the narration. Impressions, views and clicks are tracked against audiobook content specifically, planned on the same basis as the book marketing plans. Sales attributable to any of it depend on the audiobook, the price, the subscription status and the reader pool, and we will not put a figure on that.
Questions we get about Audiobook marketing
Do I have to have used you to produce my audiobook?
No, and this is the most important thing to understand about the service. You can bring an audiobook produced by another studio, one you recorded yourself, or one from a voice you hired. What we need is a finished, live audiobook with a retail link. Audiobook creation is not currently offered, and this marketing service does not depend on it ever being offered.
What if my audiobook is not in Kindle Unlimited?
Then the campaign is built around getting listeners to buy or download it rather than around subscription reads, and the concepts and calls to action reflect that honestly. It is worth knowing that subscription inclusion changes what a listener does after they finish a clip, so if it is a realistic option for your edition it is worth the fee. We will not pretend the two situations are equivalent.
How much audiobook content will I get?
It sits inside the same defined production model as the rest of the plans — the content volume attached to your tier, not an open-ended supply. Nothing here is unlimited, and we would rather set a number we can actually deliver than sell an impression of unlimited output. Your tier determines the volume.
